AI detector alternative · A guide to reviewing your drafts
An AI detector score can’t show the whole story.
A detector score offers an estimate based on patterns. Earlier drafts, edits and recorded decisions provide different information. VEYTHARA helps you inspect a revision and keep a record of what you chose. AI can support expression; you still need to check facts, meaning and the requirements that apply to the work.
An English teacher, editor or autocorrect can improve the wording while the ideas remain your own. AI assistance deserves the same careful distinction. Look at what changed in the expression, the claims and the contribution.
Can an AI detector be wrong?
Turnitin’s report guide acknowledges that its model can misclassify human and AI writing. It says the result should not be the sole basis for action against a student; further review, human judgment and institutional policies matter. Its percentage concerns qualifying prose and is separate from its similarity score.
Grammarly’s explanation of detector accuracy says detectors assess language patterns rather than the actual writing history. They can produce false positives and false negatives, and cannot confirm who wrote a text from those patterns. These are limits to consider when reading a flag, not evidence about your particular document.
Keep existing drafts and source notes. Describe assistance honestly and check school, publisher or workplace requirements. Different tasks permit different kinds of help; a writing tool cannot decide those rules for you.
A corrected verb or a stronger claim?
Fictional example · These sentences and reviewer notes illustrate a distinction; they are not findings from a real study.
Earlier draft: “The pilot results suggests that the method may reduce processing time by up to 20% under these conditions.”
Proofreading: “The pilot results suggest that the method may reduce processing time by up to 20% under these conditions.”
Stronger claim: “The method reduces processing time by 20%.”
The verb correction preserves the qualifications. The stronger revision removes the pilot context, “may”, “up to” and “under these conditions”. A reviewer can ask whether the supplied evidence supports that change. A detector percentage does not answer this question.
What VEYTHARA brings into view
The draft-comparison workspace displays wording differences and literal correspondence with source passages you supply. Rule-based prompts identify places to inspect. It does not fetch or authenticate sources or automatically verify meaning. A saved case keeps supplied drafts, versions, owner notes and decisions: a review record, not independent proof of authorship.
For a new revision, choose grammar, clarity or Match my voice. Voice mode uses one to five writing samples you are permitted to use. The AI proposes a revision and a style profile citing sample excerpts. These are fallible interpretations of those samples, not identity or authorship proof.
Inspect the original beside the suggestion. Check names, numbers, qualifications and citations. Accept the suggestion, edit it or keep the original; then download your final text and writing record. The record documents your choices, not a guarantee of correctness.
Try a real revision, then choose what to keep
The free writing test needs no sign-in or card. It permits one successful revision per browser trial, within 750 words and 6,000 characters. The trial cookie lasts 30 days from the first writing-test visit. Daily pilot capacity is limited.
You choose when to send your draft, selected samples and preferences to OpenAI, with explicit consent. Test text and results are not saved as account records. OpenAI’s retention rules apply; read the privacy notice. Download the result before leaving the page.
Saved review cases are separate. Sign in if you want to transfer your drafts, then choose Compare & save in the workspace. One complimentary saved case is available per account; Review Passes cover additional cases. They do not purchase a detector score or an independent expert opinion.
